"Uncovering and empowering myself with my hidden leadership skills changed my life"

- Dr. Koh

Now I want to share and empower physicians by teaching them these skills to live meaningful, expansive, wealthy, happy, and healthy lives they deserve to have.

Dear future LEAD Physician® team member...

Meet Dr. Elsie Koh.

Elsie Koh, MD EMHL is the Chief Medical Officer of American Endovascular & Amputation Prevention whose mission is to save patients from amputation by offering cutting edge, minimally invasive, image-guided techniques to salvage limbs in patients with critical limb ischemia or severe peripheral arterial disease.

Dr. Koh’s trained as an Interventional Radiologist at Columbia-Presbyterian hospital in NYC and was one of a small percentage of women to enter the field of interventional radiology (IR) when only 1% of doctors in the field were women. She took many leadership positions including being Chief Medical Informatics Officer (CMIO) and Regional Medical Officer at Fresenius Vascular Care North America. She served in the corporate medical office of Fresenius Medical Care North America as a medical officer and consultant to the executive Chief Medical Officer. She graduated with advanced honors at Brown University in 2017 with an Executive Master’s in Healthcare Leadership (EMHL).

In addition, since early 2019, Dr. Koh became a certified leadership coach and founded the LEAD Physician® virtual program, which helps physicians who feel stuck to regain their passion in medicine by building their self-confidence and skills in leadership and business.  LEAD Physician’s mission is to empower physicians with key tools that successful people use to make quantum leaps in their careers by focusing on their strengths and overcoming their weaknesses.  Her drive to form this platform came from her own awakening and awareness that physicians do not traditionally get taught how to lead in school.  As a result, the current healthcare system largely lacks the physician's voice in leadership roles including the most senior positions in many organizations.  At the same time, as healthcare continues to become more complex and costly, organizations are realizing the desperate need to have physician leaders on their teams to find ways to consolidate, collaborate, and improve the efficiencies in accordance with the quadruple aim: improve quality of care, decrease the cost of care, improve patient satisfaction, and decrease burnout for healthcare workers.

During her free time, Dr. Koh loves to read, travel, golf, ski, and sing. She is married with two kids in NJ.

Dr. Elsie Koh's Resume

Why LEAD Physician®?

LEAD Physician® is an online, virtual leadership program for physicians by physicians to help physicians to live up to their true potential as physicians.  Dr. Koh realizes that her initial struggle with leadership is a pervasive problem among the physician community that has not been traditionally or adequately addressed in most training programs.  As such, physicians are placed at a disadvantage in being able to lead with influence for the betterment of all stakeholders, mainly the patients.  Without leadership skills, many physicians face "burn-out" not knowing how to remove themselves from feeling "stuck" in their current situation or circumstance. Through this program and its outstanding faculty members, physicians should expect to learn how to strategically recreate, focus, and produce the steps necessary to bridge the gap from where they are to where they want to be as leaders in healthcare.

She believes that all physicians are leaders and have potential that can be easily uncovered with focused assistance and direction.
