Prior, Kurt joined VISTA Staffing Solutions in 2005 with 20 years of physician recruitment experience to help develop and build their first formal permanent physician search business. His experience also includes more than a decade of in-house physician recruitment leadership experience with one of the nation’s top 10 integrated health delivery systems, Geisinger Health System. Kurt led the department to increasing the annual number of new hires from the mid-30’s to 100 and more. His direct recruitment responsibilities included Geisinger’s executive recruitment initiatives. Kurt placed Physician Executives at every level in the organization with total numbers exceeding 100 placements. He also reduced turnover from 10% to less than 4% through one of the nation's first formal physician retention programs.


Kurt is a past president of the Association of Staff Physician Recruiters (ASPR), where he was an active speaker for ASPR’s national educational conference and led the development of ASPR's fellowship program geared at developing the next generation of physician recruitment leaders. He has consulted with departments across the country to help them develop staff, systems, and tools to help them meet the increasing demands recruiting programs face. Kurt's success in the in-house physician recruitment industry has been featured in publications such as Modern HealthCare (cover story), Health Care Financial Management’s monthly journal, Modern Physician, the New England Journal’s Recruiting Physicians Today and The Physician Executive (ACPE).
